PHOTO SERIES

THERE IS A LIGHT IN THE HOUSE,
2020

THERE IS A LIGHT IN THE HOUSE WAS MADE DURING THE YEAR EFFECTED BY THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC IN 2020. THIS SERIES REFECTS THE CONDITION OF LIVING ALONE IN ONE'S OWN (EMPTY) HOUSE. THIS PHOTO SERIES CAPTURES THE MUNDANE BEAUTY IN  ORDINARY ENVIRONMENT; MEANWHILE, THE HOUSE IS MELANCHOLY, QUIET, AND EMPTY.

HOWEVER, THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WINDOW. LIGHT SYMBOLIZES HOPE: WE HOPE THAT ONE DAY EVERYDAY WILL BE NORMAL AGAIN. THE PENDAMIC WILL END, AND NOBODY WILL EVER BE LONELY AGAIN.

UNTITLED (LIGHT AND SHADOW),
2018

UNTITLED (LIGHT AN SHADOW) BOILS DOWN TO ITS CORE- HENCE THE NAME OF THE TITLE THAT SUGGESTES NOTHING BUT ANTITHESIS, OF LIGHT AND SHADOW, SIGNIFICANCE VERSUS NOTHINGNESS.  IT IS A PHOTOGRAPHIC SERIES THAT CLOSELY STUDIES THE EFFECTS AND REFLECTION OF LIGHT. LIGHT IS THE VEHICAL THAT DRIVES OUR PERCEPTION.  THIS BODY OF WORK EXPLORES THE MECHANICS AND MOVEMENT OF LIGHT IN URBAN ENVIRONMENT, WHERE WE OFTEN OVERLOOKED ITS BEAUTY.

PLASTICS,
2019

PLASTICS ADDRESSES CONSUMERIST CULTURE AND OUR OBSESSION OVER THE MOST-RECENTLY AVAILABLE THINGS (REFERS TO BOTH PHYSICAL OBJECTS AND INFORMATION). ON THE OTHER HAND, HUMANITY CELEBRATES TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT AND THE NEWLY INVENTED MATERIAL OF THE LATE 19TH CENTURY PLASTIC THAT WE CONTINUE TO USE (AND OVERUSE) UNTIL THIS DAY. PLASTICS, LITERALLY AND METAPHORICALLY, SUFFOCATED LIVING ORGANISM AND DESTROY NATURE. MEANWHILE, WE ARE STILL DRAWN TO THE LIGHT WEIGHT, TRASPARENT, AND REFLECTIVE QUALITY OF PLASTIC MATERIAL. TAKE A LOOK AROUND US, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE HAS PLASTIC. WE ARE ESSENTIALLY COVERED BY PLASTICS, WITHOUT REALIZING THAT WE ARE SLOWLY RUNNING OUT OF BREATH. IN A NUTSHELL, PLASTICS SERVES AS AN IRONY: PLASTIC WAS USED TO SEAL PRODUCTS TO PRESERVED ITS FRESHNESS, WHILE IT IS ALSO THE SAME THING THAT HARMS THE ENVIRONMENT.
